The Willow Tree Tea Room is a cozy café tucked along Burton Joyce’s Main Street, offering a welcoming spot for locals and visitors looking to unwind with quality tea, hearty lunches, and friendly service. Despite its modest frontage, the addition of a bright conservatory at the back creates a pleasantly airy dining area, which often fills up during midday and early afternoons, especially when the sun is out.

The café balances traditional tearoom comforts with a menu that veers comfortably into bistro territory. You’ll find classic choices like English Breakfast tea and decaffeinated options alongside warm, filling dishes such as jacket potatoes loaded with cheese and beans, homemade beef chili con carne, and a well-reviewed beef lasagne. This mix means it caters well to those after a casual midday meal that’s more substantial than your typical café fare.

Locals particularly appreciate the down-to-earth, welcoming atmosphere — it's common to see relaxed groups of friends catching up while sampling cakes and coffee, or individuals settling in with a newspaper and a pot of tea. The staff’s attentiveness adds to the experience, noted for gentle politeness and helpfulness, including thoughtful touches for dog owners; well-behaved dogs are welcomed and even treated with water and occasional biscuits, making it a favored stop for dog walkers in the village.

The outdoor garden space to the rear offers a quiet retreat from the village's bustle on warmer days, adding to the sense of friendly informality. Free street parking nearby eases access, encouraging more spontaneous visits. Whether you're looking for a place to pause during a walk, meet a friend for a chat over coffee, or enjoy a straightforward, homey lunch, The Willow Tree feels tailored to those who value a grounded, personable environment without fuss or pretense.

Excellent little tearoom and bistro. The panini’s were first class. Very clean and dog friendly. Which is a must for us. Staff gave him a sausage and clean water. Highly recommended. Lovely little garden at the back too.

Lovely coffee shop. Doesn't look very big from the outside, but with the conservatory on the back there is plenty of seating. Service at the table, very polite and friendly. Food fresh and portions generous. Well behaved dogs welcome. Free parking on the street.

Super experience today!. I had a classic jacket potato with cheese and beans and the wife had a beautiful chicken and bacon salad that had to be photograghed. The owners were just recovering from the lunchtime rush but still took time to have a chat and make sure we were enjoying our food 13.30 was a good time to get there!. We were a little full after lunch but had to get two pieces of cake to take away!.
